The Lester hook is an ophthalmic surgical instrument introduce by Modern Surgical MS-198 used primarily during cataract surgery to manipulate and position the intraocular lens (IOL). It features a slender shaft with a curved, often rounded or “collar button” shaped tip. This design allows the surgeon to grasp the haptic (the flexible “arm”) of the IOL and safely rotate it within the eye’s capsular bag.
